Guitars! (Now on mp3 player)

I'm beginning to realise that my blogs are never going to pick up in frequency while I'm writing them on the home computer. Its hard to find enough time to just write to my hearts content about whatever with them watching TV in the background. So I'm making it priority one to get my laptop fixed now.

Uh oh

Okay so it would seem I let the blog slip behind a little. But not to worry I'll have loads to blog about soon :) The Ham Beast is back so many adventures will be had trying to slay the demon whore. Anyway I've been messing around on guitar again for the first time in about 4-5 years and recording stuff on my mp3 player in case i forget it a few weeks down the line. Nothing near complete or finished.

Double Vocal Feature Extrrrrrravaganzaaaaa!

So back to the music... This first track is a cover
I recorded of aRadiohead song in 2006. It was actually
just a warm up before doing an original recording,
what that was I do not know. Anyway the song is
Gagging Order and it has some funky tuning that
sounds fantastical, and is a lot of fun to play!
Shame my voice sounds so weak. I don't think its
wise to attempt to sing a song with Thom Yorke
vocals, not with my range.

Monocle Paste

OH NOES!!
So it would seem during my time in that awful emo band I was still recording my own music. See I pretty much had no creative input in that band, sure I tried at first, I was even told it would just be me ste and itch jammin whatever on guitars. I show up on day one, get assigned as the singer (god knows why?!) and we're aiming to be a popular scene band so we can "make it".

Musical Past

Rachels gone away :( For 6 weeks. I dunno what I'm gonna do to pass the time but at least I have work to help. Oh yeah thats right, I got a job workign in citywest shopping centre. Tis a pretty handy job and i'm only working part time so the days fly in. My laptop died again which has resulted in irregular updates to this blog, but not to worry, with Rachel gone to germany for the next month and a half, I'm more motivated to blog about things. So she, being my only subscriber/viewer I can keep her informed about my life, in case she grows suspicious of the large amounts of hookers I have lined up for while she's away.

What's the story, what's the craic?

Day 1 of a 3 day shoot on a music video for Solo Thang's "All I Need". I got greg to take a picture of me with a Glee cardboard cut out cos I know Rachel would have loved to have been there to pose with it, so hopefully she likes the picture of me and one of her favourite Glee stars (The teacher guy... whats his name!) There's also something beautiful about standing in an empty town house room, the smell of death and rich kids legal highs in the air, as you watch the upper class do their shopping through the window.

So it has been a while I suppose... So where have I been?

Well I was busy for the last few weeks of
college. Had an exam on Contextual Studies on the 6th of may and a bunch of assignments to hand in! I think in a past blog I talked about two studio shows we had to produce as one of our final assignments. Well the two shows, to remind you, where Vintage and High Pitched.

Vintage was an era show, that looked at past decades and annalysed it's art, music, fashion etc and talked about they're influenc
e from that decade and how they influenced eachother. The episode we would be filming was on the 80's. It waould be recorded live in studio in the college. There was a fashion section with a woman who was a fashion expert especially with 80's fashion trends. She had brought in 3 dresses/outfits to talk about. Then there was a VT segment filmed prior to the live recording of the show on how to get the perfect 80's hairdo. It was recorded in Peter Mark's in Dublin and the Hairstyle was performed by one of the resident hairdressers in the salon. The next segment looked at record sleeve artwork from bands of the era, and how it was influenced by the style of the 80's or pop culture at the time.

The only one I can remember is Joy Divisions Closer... But there where others. Oh and there was also a recorded interview we did with an expert on pop culture from the 80's and he talked about how everything influenced each other from politics to art to music to fashion etc. All I did on the show really was Tech Assistant, I just wired everything up to the studio, cameras to wallboxes, to ccu's, to studio, to monitors and vision mixer etc, auto cue to studio, and back down to cameras... etc... alot of wires... alot of mess... And it's very stuffy in the server room where the CCU's are kept... god damn sweatbox!

The second show was High Pitched. It was just your avergae music magazine type show. Live act, album review, music videos, music news. Average stuff really. I was sound assistant on the show. I had to mic up the live act, as wel las presenters etc. I decided to have my own mixing table on the studi
o floor to mic up the band, which would mix down up to the sound desk in the control room and then be put into the final mixdown to be recorded. Once again I found myself wiring alot of things. But now I've a better firsthand knowledge on how everything connects in our studio than the rest of the people in the class. And it really is poxy to get yr head around. The ccu's have a billion cables between them. Its very messy and confusing! Anyway the two acts the producer and director booked bailed out so we had to go over to the Rock School and find anyone.
A real nice guy named Osion volunteered to play some original material on acoustic guitar.

His songs where pretty cool, sadly I have no pictures from this show at all but it turned out to be pretty cool in the end with everyones input! Even though I said in an earlier blog I didn't think the second show would go as smoothly as Vintage.

Exam was grand, nothing to report on that really. Then just been getting my assignments in like crazy. Oh and the Lost Season Finale... WOW! I've also been back on Deviantart for the first time in 4 years... Pretty weird. Not gonna bother linking to it now until there's something up that I'm happy with.

Nothing else to report really... But I'll be back more often now i suppose! Now that college is done with for the summer! Woop!

Last night and Today!

Okay so last night was awesome!

Went to Gers and then got wasted.
Got the bus to town and went to Dorans.
Mt up with rachel Saggybaps Galore  and we got drunker! Everyone was there!
And they were all nuts and crazy and drunky :D

Even my brother and sister came over for a while,
with my cousins form england and from longford!

So we got a room in a hotel. It was cool.
Much nicer than the last time we stayed there!
Rachel Saggybaps Galore got all protective of me stuffed her pie-hole! was cute vomit inducing :)

I got lotsa lovely subway! When we woke up rachel Saggybaps Galore was looking like she was going to murder me!
I love when shes playful in the morning had to kick her in the teeth and try fix her crooked smile :D

But yeah it was a great night full of drunkeness, but a horrible hang over followed.
So bad.

Hopefully somthing good will come on! :)

Went I got home ben Ibhonn called around from her Jog (with a soft J)
